Care of the 'Heads'

The 'Heads' are made from terracotta clay or porcelain paperclay and fired to a high temperature (950-1000 C) before being painted with under-glaze/glazes and fired again to 'stoneware' (1260 C).  This means they should not be kept outside.

Some 'Heads' are painted using durable acrylic paints.

Being  ceramics the 'Heads' could break if dropped.

CLEANING:  The underglaze on the 'Heads' has been fired into the clay however care should be taken when cleaning the heads not to dislodge this layer, also some heads will have additional acrylic paint on them.  Clean all 'Heads' with a soft dry brush.
Displaying the 'Heads' in a closed show case will avoid the need to clean them.
